Customer Reopening Guidance

Opening Hours

We are pleased to announce we are now open offering inside & outside seating with table service only. Face masks/coverings are to be worn when entering the building & moving around the building but may be removed once seated.

Last orders will be 30 minutes before closure. Opening hours are subject to a weekly review by the committee.

PF will have the authority to close the club early if the customer numbers are low.
Opening hours will be extended if a major sports event is on Sky or BT.
Last orders will be 30 minutes before the expected closure of the club.

Last orders will be rung by the Steward or Assistant Steward.

Children (under 12) – are allowed on the premises but must be accompanied when entering the building with a responsible adult. The committee expects that children will be supervised at all times, must not run on the bowling green and be escorted to the toilets. 

Parents/carers who fail to supervise their children will be asked to leave the premises immediately.

All children will be expected to leave the premises by 9.00 pm (unless PF activates a major sporting event).

Potentially hours will be subject to change on a weekly basis.

Customer Entry

The GESM is a private members club requiring an ‘active’ membership to gain entry.

On reopening, the club is required to keep a record for 21 days of customers who have visited the site for Track and Trace purposes. Members will be allowed to sign in two guests into the club with the appropriate payment. 

A reduced membership will be offered to visitors to allow them the opportunity to join the club until the end of the year.

Members will be required to scan their membership card to purchase drinks and keep a note of who was present in their company at that time. Fast track membership is available from the bar.

Customer Numbers and Seating Arrangements

The club will allow customers to sit inside or outside but will operate a ‘maximum customer’ policy.  The current number is 116.

All customer experiences have been COVID 19 Risk Assessed and follow the latest Government advice. This has resulted in changes to how we will offer service to customers.

Inside Experience

Customers must be seated when drinking in the building (following the latest guidance relating to COVID 19) and when moving around the club a face covering must be worn.
Drinks will be ordered and delivered by table service only.

Both lounges and the Function room will be available for customers to sit at a table.

Drinks will be served in glassware and ordered and delivered by table service only.

Outside Experience

Customers will be allowed to stand or sit around the external outside area following the appropriate social distancing rules in place at that time.

Bowling Green – Customers are allowed to sit on the grass to drink and socialise. Customers must not wear high heels or shoes which may damage the surface. Children must not play ball games or run around the green.


Ideally, the club would like to operate a cashless system with a preference for card payments.

Rest Rooms

Toilets will operate with a one in one out policy.

Social Activities

The club will offer the following social activities:

  • Darts – Monday and Friday
  • Snooker – Monday to Sunday
  • Quiz Night – Tuesday
  • Saturday Night Social – Saturday
  • The GESM have completed an additional Risk Assessment for each of the above social activities.
  • Further guidance will be posted on the club notice board prior to the commencement of the opening of the offer. 

Gaming Machines

Machines will be available for customers to use following the current guidance in operation.
Hand sanitizer use is compulsory before and after use.

Live Sport

GESM will continue to show live sporting events. The volume will be reduced in line with the guidance recommendations.
